The Men's Section contains almost four hundred golfers and covers Full, Five Day and Intermediate Members.  The Club runs a full itinerary of internal competitions and matches against other Golf Clubs.

a)      Qualifying Competitions

Either a Medal or Stableford competition is held monthly throughout the year except for the winter months from December to February. In addition there are fourteen qualifying Trophy competitions for individual play meaning that there is a qualifying competition most weekends throughout the season.

b)      Knockouts

      Summer knockout competitions are run embracing competitions covering gross, handicap for all entrants and three competition for low, medium and high handicap groups,

      In the winter a four ball better ball competition is run with first round losers competing for a Plate.

c)     Inter Club

Copthorne is one of a group of five Sussex Clubs who play together in four ball competition in the Mid Sussex League (MSL). Winter and Summer leagues are run with each of the five Clubs playing home and away against each other in teams of ten. The competition is friendly but serious and all male members are eligible to play.
